Safer Spaces (NSTAY Program)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A 24-hour staffed, supportive emergency/crisis housing program for all youth, aged 16-26, exiting the sex trade. 

PARTICIPANT INCLUSION: All Gender Inclusive; 16-26

Supportive Housing for Young Mothers (SHYM) 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: SHYM provides supportive housing, parenting support, and life skills development. SHYM provides a safe, nurturing environment, self-contained housing, access to common areas such as a program room, children’s playroom and backyard, case management, home visitation, group programming, and 24-hour access to on-site staff.

PARTICIPANT INCLUSION: Women and Girls;16-24; In 3rd Trimester of Pregnancy or Independently Parenting a Child or Children

Women in Supportive Housing (WISH) 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: WISH provides safe, secure, supported housing to single women who have experienced homelessness, and have barriers to stable housing.  WISH offers furnished apartments, support with financial management, home visitation, eviction prevention, case planning, service navigation, individualized support, and 24-hour emergency on-call support. YWCA Halifax holds the lease and provides advocacy and assistance with housing.

PARTICIPANT INCLUSION: Trans and cis women/girls; 19+; In receipt of Income Assistance
