Antigonish Women’s Centre & Sexual Assault Services (AWCSAS)

Antigonish Women’s Centre & Sexual Assault Services (AWCSAS is an independent, feminist, community-based organization. We provide information, services, and programs for women, girls, Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary people and their families and communities. We address their concerns through community development, education, and research. Guided by the experiences and knowledge of women, girls, Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary people, the AWCSAS works to create a just and equitable society.

SERVICES OFFERED: Direct Services: supportive listening and problem-solving, systems navigation, Guysborough County outreach, Income Tax Return support, emergency financial assistance based on identified needs; Newcomer Support Services: assistance with forms, documents, and translations related to settlement, assistance with housing school and childcare registration, education and employment; Healthy Relationships for Youth Programming; Waves of Change Bystander Intervention Program; Circles of Support and Change Project; Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program; Specialized Sexual Violence Trauma Therapy.

PARTICIPANT INCLUSION: Women, girls, two spirit, trans, and non-binary people; 16+; Some programs are extended to family members, youth and survivors of sexual violence of all genders
